truAmerican® was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the stories of a young boy sitting at his father's feet, listening to tales of service, sacrifice, and what it truly means to be an American.

The Man Behind the Mission

O.D. St.Clair was not a man who talked about honor — he lived it.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War era, one of the most defining and demanding chapters in American military history. When most men his age were finding their footing in civilian life, Otis was standing watch for a nation that asked everything of its servicemen and women.

He gave the Air Force 20 years.

When he retired, most men would have rested. O.D. didn't. He transitioned into civil service, dedicating the next 20 years of his life to the United States as a civil engineer at Rickenbacker Air Force Base and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base — two of the most storied installations in American military history. Forty years of his life. Given freely. Given with pride.

He never asked for recognition. He just kept serving.

Growing up, Otis St.Clair. — founder of truAmerican® — sat captivated by his father's stories. Stories of the Air Force. Stories of the men and women who served alongside him. Stories of what America asked of its people, and what its people gave in return.

Those stories were not just interesting to a young boy. They were formative. They were the foundation of an identity — an understanding that America is not just a place. It is a legacy. A living story, written by the hands of those willing to sacrifice for it.

When Otis founded truAmerican®, he carried those stories with him.
